Our retreat in the north of the island
Picarus was born out of our passion for the sea, for Tenerife and for doing things differently: close, genuine and caring about every detail. Picarus Home, our small retreat in the north of the island, was born of that same philosophy.
It is not simply a holiday house. It is a deeply personal project to which we have devoted years of work, effort and perseverance.
Much of what you will find in it we thought up, chose and built ourselves, little by little, trying to create the kind of place where we would want to stay when we travel. Behind every space, every detail and every improvement there are many hours of work and, above all, a great deal of care.
Discover the other side of Tenerife
Picarus Home is in Tacoronte, in the north of Tenerife, a perfect area for anyone who wants to get to know a different island: greener, quieter and more genuine.
From here you have a privileged base for discovering some of our favourite places: San Cristóbal de La Laguna, La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz, the Anaga Rural Park, Mount Teide, the northern forests and small coastal spots such as El Pris and Mesa del Mar.
It is a place where you can get up in the morning, make a coffee and decide whether to lose yourself in a laurel forest, discover a small Canarian village, swim in the Atlantic or cross the island to meet us in Los Gigantes and go sailing.
A house designed to feel like home
Picarus Home is a complete 106 m² house for up to 4 guests, with two bedrooms, a large living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a private garden and terraces where you can enjoy the calm of northern Tenerife.
It has private parking, high-speed Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, air conditioning in the bedrooms and everything you need for both short stays and a few days of real disconnection.
But we believe that a good stay does not depend only on having a beautiful house. That is why we like to welcome our guests with small touches: basic supplies, fruit and a welcome surprise. We want them to feel, from the moment they open the door, that someone prepared the house with their arrival in mind.
That is exactly what we are most delighted to find in the reviews of those who stay with us. They highlight above all the quiet, the cleanliness, the comfort, how well equipped the house is, our attentiveness and the welcome touches.
From the north of Tenerife to the ocean
Picarus Home and Picarus Sailing Club are two parts of the same way of understanding our island. We want you to get to know Tenerife beyond the usual places: its villages, its landscapes and its food, but also the ocean around it and the extraordinary marine life we are lucky enough to find off our coasts.
You can stay at Picarus Home, travel around Tenerife at your own pace and round off your stay by sailing with us from Los Gigantes on one of our responsible whale and dolphin watching trips.
Land and sea. North and west. Two ways of discovering Tenerife, and the same project behind both: Picarus.
Welcome to our house
After years working on this project, being able to open its doors and share it with people who come to discover our island is one of the finest parts of the journey.
We hope you enjoy Picarus Home, Tenerife and every little corner you find along the way. We provide the house. Tenerife will do the rest.

Frequently asked questions
-
Where exactly is Picarus Home?
In Tacoronte, on the northern side of Tenerife. It is a green, quiet area with quick access to the northern motorway and to coastal spots in the municipality itself, such as El Pris and Mesa del Mar.
-
How many people does it sleep?
Up to 4 guests. The house is 106 m², with two bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom, plus a private garden and terraces.
-
Can a stay be combined with a sailing trip?
Yes, and that is precisely the idea. Our trips leave from Los Gigantes, in the south-west: you cross Tenerife by motorway, and there is time to sail in the morning and sleep in the north again. The house and the trips are booked separately.
-
How are Picarus Home and Picarus Sailing Club related?
They are the same project and the same team. Picarus Home is our own holiday house, not an outside partner’s: it is run by Katahisa Ugidos, of the Picarus team.
-
How do I book?
On the Picarus Home website, which has its own calendar, prices and up-to-date conditions. Bookings for the house are not handled on this site.
