Why do we recommend Bodegas Ferrera?
Bodegas Ferrera is a family winery in Arafo, on the slopes of the Güímar valley, growing its mountain vineyards under certified organic agriculture. Its wine-tourism experiences —vineyard visits, tastings with Canarian tapas and evenings with astronomical observation— are enjoyed in small groups, with the family as your hosts. We recommend it because it shares our philosophy: local produce, a personal touch and respect for the volcanic landscape around it.

Mountain wines with the sea in the background
There are places where wine only makes sense when you look at the landscape. The vineyards of Bodegas Ferrera climb the slopes of the Güímar valley, on volcanic soil and with the Atlantic in the background: the same blue sheet we sail from Los Gigantes, seen this time from the heights of Arafo.
It is a family winery working under certified organic agriculture, with Canarian grape varieties and a small scale — the kind that lets you do things slowly. We like recommending it for the same reasons we try to work this way at sea: local produce, made calmly and with respect for the environment.
Tastings, tapas and clean skies
Their experiences go beyond a tasting: vineyard visits with the family, Canarian tapas alongside every glass and night-time gatherings where the telescope takes over after dinner. Up in the Arafo mountains, away from the coastal lights, Tenerife’s sky is also part of the menu.
Each experience has its own calendar and limited places, and is booked directly on this very page. If your trip allows a day at sea and another in the mountains, this is a perfect land plan to toast the island.

What is the relationship between Picarus and Bodegas Ferrera?
It is an honest recommendation between companies that share the same philosophy: local produce, small groups and respect for the environment. We manage its bookings from our website under a partnership agreement with the winery; the activity, its dates and its conditions depend exclusively on Bodegas Ferrera.
-
Can it be combined with the sailing trip?
Yes: they are complementary plans. Our outing takes half a day in Los Gigantes, in the south-west; Arafo is on the eastern side of the island, just over an hour away by car.
